The pearce project
Veterans who are eager to apply their prodigious skills and exemplary work ethic are answering a special call to action in Pearce, AZ, a beautiful rural town in Cochise Valley, about 80 miles southeast of Tucson. Property owner Carolyne Mas is partnering with U.S. Tour of Duty to develop a farm, community garden and veterans retreat. Cooking classes, music/art therapy and life coaching will be offered on her very private 38-acre parcel. Our team will also connect veterans with local wellness experts specializing in healing modalities such as meditation and yoga.

Carolyne Mas earned a Masters degree in Medical Nutrition from Arizona State University, and is currently working on a PhD in Integrative and Functional Nutrition at Saybrook University. She worked for many years as an international recording artist and singer-songwriter, and has experience as an occupational therapist working with mentally-challenged adults in Nashville. Carolyne also worked as a chef on and off for several years in New York City and Los Angeles, specializing in healthy, Mediterranean-style cuisine. She brings all this experience to the table with a genuine desire to help veterans find optimal health while breathing life back into Pearce. Her top priority is to help rehabilitate veterans in need by giving them the body-mind skills to cope with stress, and to manage their lives more effectively.

The Pearce Project is a multi-dimensional effort that aims to revitalize the area by providing vital services to the community, and by addressing environmental issues including the lack of water and healthy, affordable food, which veterans understand is a matter of national security. Your financial support enables us to dramatically improve the lives of veterans and their neighbors in many important ways. Please donate today.
