MISSION
U.S. Tour of Duty, an American revival led by former service members and their allies, launches social enterprises with strategic allies, fosters all types of creative expression and lifts communities by applying a military mindset to civilian life. We offer veterans the opportunity to network with public-spirited cohorts from all walks of life, and develop mutually beneficial relationships. U.S. Tour of Duty is a project of Fulcrum Arts' Emerge fiscal sponsorship program. Fulcrum Arts, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, advances collaboration at the intersection of art and science.

Navy veteran Roy Finegan worked under a flight deck where aircraft constantly landed when he served as a diesel mechanic on the USS Independence from 1989 to 1993. The intense roar and clatter left him with permanent tinnitus and other debilitating effects. More recently, Roy has been plagued by loud disturbances where he lives. After he mentioned the problem in a Nextdoor.com post, HomeFront Rising created a Radio Silence Room in his apartment with funding provided by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and noise reduction material donated by Soundproof Cow in partnership with WE RISE LA, Angels Gate Cultural Center, Arts Council for Long Beach, Compound LB and 10 other organizations and artists in the Harbor Region.
