INTRO TO PODCASTING
U.S. Tour of Duty is an American revival based on the premise that good things inevitably happen when veterans and nonveterans join forces. We utilize libraries as command centers where warrior scholars collect, analyze and disseminate intelligence before launching creative, entrepreneurial and community development projects aimed at uplifting the human condition. Librarians stand ready to help veterans connect with resources and kindred spirits. The nucleus of the effort is a podcast that advances our strategic objectives. We teach veterans and other civic-minded Americans how to create content for the podcast and thus acquire real world experience.
Some of our participating libraries have fully-equipped studios with trained personnel on the premises, and FREE online instruction is offered from February 1 to March 31 in partnership with Whittier Public Library. One-on-one and group lessons will be scheduled based on skill/interest level. This workshop is an opportunity to become adept at hosting, producing and promoting your own podcast in addition to collaborating with us. Enrollment is limited. Send us an email if you have any questions.
This project was supported in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian. Additional funding is needed for equipment and instructors. Please donate now and help us build a thriving veteran-centric media platform. Our workshops are offered free of charge.
